school days are back...

the summer flew by, we are still living through our kitchen remodel (pictures to come in the next couple weeks) and school started today. we took our traditional first day of school picture by the front door...

can you tell we pulled john john out of bed and threw some clothes on him about a minute before we took this picture.  the kids really wanted him to have a backpack to wear for the picture but that clear and green bag was as good as it was going to get in our mad rush out the door.

he perked up a little for the next picture (even if the other three look a little out of it)...

first grade will be a big change from last year for ella, she is so excited...

and once our remodel is done and we are not living through mayhem everywhere, i know it will be a great year!
