jog-a-thon 2011

so, the jog-a-thon was back in november.
it is a great fundraiser because the kids get to be involved directly by running for an hour.
they play music and the kids really have a great time, then they get pizza and popsicles.

i helped with the 6th grade...organizing volunteers for their class to count $ and laps.
so, john got to hang out with all his 11 and 12 year old friends...

i was able to sneak away briefly from my duties to go and cheer on ella and andrew.

and get one picture of each of them...

the principal always runs with the kids too, and so do many of the teachers.
and she always makes a point of having the money go to items that are tangible for the kids to see.
new swings, drinking fountains, smart boards...she wants them to actually see their results.
each of the different grades are on different fields, the little ones run around their playground.

and the younger siblings always like being a part of it too!
